Please Make a Difference for Dental Hygiene's Future

The 3rd annual IDHA HYPAC Challenge will be held from October 1, 2017 to November 4, 2017.

The winner will be announced at the last general assembly meeting during the IDHA Annual session.

ILHy-PAC is IDHA’s Political Action Committee.  Like ADHA’s HYPAC, it is a voluntary non-profit committee of individuals acting to support candidates for public office who share the interests of dental hygienists.

The members of the ILHy-PAC are a group of IDHA members who voluntarily pool resources, through financial contributions and grassroots involvement, to support candidates for state office who support the interests of dental hygienists and our patients.

The HYPAC Challenge is a 'friendly' competition among IDHA's 6 components, with recognition for the component that brings in the highest amount of donations.

    October 3, 2017

    Greetings District 8,

I am emailing to have you share the exciting upcoming opportunity to serve District 8 as Trustee.  I am in my second year of my second term, which will conclude at our Annual Conference in Columbus Ohio in June, 2018.  As you all know, District Trustees are elected by the delegates within their district. Trustees serve as the link between the national organization and the constituent (state) organizations.

I would like to offer a ZOOM meeting for anyone in District 8 that is interested in learning more about the Trustee position.  My proposed date for the ZOOM meeting is Thursday, October 5th at 6:00 CST (5:00 MST).  Please help me share this information with others in our District that may be interested.  If you would like to attend, please send me an email to or contact me at 402-677-9170.

Trustee Bio-data form link is at the bottom of the volunteer information link above under the "Learn More" section. The form is then reviewed by the Nominating Committee. The skill set link is also found on the volunteer information link below.  I will share the Universal Skill Sets, Conflict Disclosure Form, and ADHA Rules of Conduct form with any interested individuals as these are all important documents to review in preparation for serving in leadership positions.

The process for Trustee Elections has changed from years past.  It is important to understand the new process. After the completion of your submission to the Nominating Committee they will review the submissions and set the slate for the Trustee election. For those who have attended in the past this will not take place during the candidate's forum for officer position but rather during our smaller district meetings. All ADHA members are able to participate in the candidates forum however only elected Delegates from District VIII will be able to cast a vote to elect the new Trustee. Once again our District 8 Election for Trustee will take place during the House of Delegates meeting in Columbus, Ohio during our first district discussion/caucus meeting.

If you have specific questions about the role of the Trustee, time commitments or any other questions in general about the role please don't hesitate to contact me. I look forward to mentoring individuals this year in preparation for the Trustee election.

Once again, please help me share this information regarding the District VIII Trustee position.  Thanks and have a great rest of the week!

    Lisa Moravec, RDH, MSDH
    ADHA District VIII Trustee
