Humanistic Teaching in Clinical Dental Hygiene
Teaching professionals are in a unique position to transfer the craft of dental hygiene to their students in the clinical setting. The past decade has been marked by a trend in healthcare education to move from a behavioral form of teaching and learning toward an educational process grounded in humanism, where both the art and science of dentistry are taught. A qualitative study exploring humanistic teaching through the perceptions of dental hygiene instructors will serve as the framework for a discussion on transferring professional knowledge in a human way. Join us as we cultivate a way of thinking about humanistic teaching and what this might look like within your unique program.
